How Can I Get Rid Of Psoriasis Fast

What I Took Away From It

Psoriasis Treatments : How To Get Rid of Psoriasis Fast and Naturally (Psoriasis Pictures)

I am very glad that I did my ten day water fast.

My psoriasis did not go away completely, but I stopped flaking completely. My patches had been reduced to slightly raised areas of pink.

The self-discipline factor alone is also reason enough to do it. Afterwards, I literally felt like a boss for having such mental control, and Im still proud of it today.

Another benefit was that it reset my taste-buds and showed the extent to which I had been conditioned to eating food. The power it had over me. With this realization it made it a lot easier for me to restrict my diet in the years to come.

But would I do it again? Im not too sure. I have successfully done a five day water fast too, and think its great for kick-starting a round of detoxification for your body.

However, I currently think that, if you have a nine to five, and an active social life, its nigh on impossible to do a ten day water fast without affecting your productivity and other areas of life.

In this respect, fresh juice fasting, with green juices, is the best balance. For one, you give your body a partial rest as the digestion load is reduced, and secondly, you pump yourself full of inflammation-fighting nutrients. Its a win, win.

How To Cure Psoriasis Permanently: Top 10 Home Remedies

What is psoriasis and what does it look like? Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that occurs due to the excessive growth of skin cells. New skin cells developed in a day instead of a week. Skin cells start piling up on the skin and cause patches. They are thick, red, scaly patches on the skin. Psoriasis can occur on elbows, knees, scalp, palms, back, face, and feet but can occur in other parts of the body too. This is a long-lasting skin problem but you can cure psoriasis with a natural home remedy.

Psoriasis occurs when your immunity is not working properly. The cell turnover process takes months normally but during psoriasis, it takes only a day to complete. People with serious health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, and stress are more at risk.

Psoriasis mainly occurs in people aged between 15-40 years, but it can occur at any age. Its very rare but an infant can have psoriasis. Psoriasis is not a contagious skin disease.

I think this soap bar is sent from heaven as it prevented me from spending a lot of money on fighting psoriasis. It doesnt only give me peace of mind but my skin feels at ease too. I no longer need any medication as this soap satiates my needs to maintain healthy skin.

I love that this coal tar soap for psoriasis can be used as a hand wash, body wash, and face wash. I saw improvements from head to toe. It allows me to experience having a foot spa as it can remove old skin. All skin types can take in all the benefits, even the most sensitive skin.

Another thing I like is that this bar of soap can last up to six to eight weeks because its handmade through the cold process. But you have to make sure its in a dry location after use so it wont melt easily. When I compare it to other commercial soaps, it indeed has a longer life.

I can attest to how its economical but proven to be effective for everyone in the family from infants, children, teenagers to adults. All of us in the family love using it. I have peace of mind that everyone gets cleaned while preventing skin issues like flaking, itchiness, rashes, and acne.

Steroid Creams Or Ointments

Steroid creams or ointments are commonly used to treat mild to moderate psoriasis in most areas of the body. The treatment works by reducing inflammation. This slows the production of skin cells and reduces itching.

Topical corticosteroids range in strength from mild to very strong. Only use them when recommended by your doctor.

Stronger topical corticosteroids can be prescribed by your doctor and should only be used on small areas of skin or on particularly thick patches. Overusing topical corticosteroids can lead to skin thinning.

Stress Lack Of Sleep And Other Lifestyle Factors

Some patients will report that certain dietary habits or stress make skin flaking worse, while others say that those factors have no impact. For example, in one study published in 2015 in the journal BMC Dermatology about half of patients surveyed said that stress caused psoriasis to get worse and could pinpoint a stressful period of their life that was linked to the onset of their disease.

The thing about psoriasis is that it has a mind of its own, says Dr. Wechsler. Psychological stress and lack of sleep certainly can make a flaking flare worse. Theres a vicious cycle where the symptoms of the disease make you stressed, anxious, and down, and you dont sleep as well. That, in turn, compromises skin healing, and the cycle repeats, she says.

Diet And Psoriasis: What’s The Connection

How I finally got rid of my psoriasis

Can your diet help keep psoriasis under control? Maybe. An observational study published online July 25, 2018, by JAMA Dermatology found that people with psoriasis who followed a Mediterranean diet an eating pattern rich in fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish, fruit, nuts, and extra-virgin olive oil experienced fewer severe flare-ups. This was only an association and more research is needed, but experts believe the Mediterranean diet contains many foods that have an anti-inflammatory effect in the body and may offer extra protection against psoriasis triggers.

Stay Away From Aerosol Sprays And Cosmetic Dyes

Aerosol sprays and perfumes contain chemical additives that can wreak havoc on your skin. Most of these chemical products are known to aggravate psoriasis further. Opt for perfumes that are suitable for sensitive skin or are mainly comprised of organic matter. Always be careful to read the label on the products before you purchase them.

How A Dermatologist Can Help

With so many products, it can be difficult to know what to use. If you dont see the results you like with OTC treatment for psoriasis, you may want to see dermatologist. Dermatologists are the skin disease experts. They know how to tailor psoriasis treatment to the type of psoriasis you have. Sometimes, this requires combining treatments. You may also need one treatment plan to gain control over your psoriasis and another to maintain the results.

The Mental Burden Of Skin Flakes In Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis

You dont need a medical study to tell you that scaling and flaking is bothersome, but the evidence exists nonetheless: 65 percent of patients rank flaking, peeling, and shedding on their body as one of the top three most distressing symptoms they experience, per research published in The Journal of Dermatological Treatment.

The problem with any skin disease is that its on the outside. You have to deal with how the world is interacting with you and your skin disease. It can cause a lot of pain and suffering, says Amy Wechsler, MD, who is board-certified in both dermatology and psychiatry and author of the book The Mind-Beauty Connection. For instance, if psoriasis flakes are on your hands, you may be worried about shaking hands in work or social settings to say hello.

The challenge then becomes controlling and responding to flares, cleaning up flakes, and explaining them to friends, colleagues, and loved ones. Generally, the more widespread the disease, or the more difficult it is to cover up, the greater the effect it has on quality of life, says Dr. Bressack.
