Horse Milk As A Natural Treatment For Psoriasis

About 62% of our Equilac® users have relief from psoriasis symptoms after three months.

The positive results that horse milk has on psoriasis are attributed to the unique ingredient lactoferrin, an anti-inflammatory protein, also found in breast milk.

Studies of lactoferrin have shown that it helps with skin infections and autoimmune diseases like psoriasis by strengthening and balancing the immune system.

An important advantage of lactoferrin present in horse milk is that it occurs in a natural form and not as a synthetic additive like other dietary supplements. Natural lactoferrin ensures improved absorption by the body and strengthens its effect.

How Many People Have Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a fairly common skin condition and is estimated to affect approximately 1%-3% of the U.S. population. It currently affects roughly 7.5 million to 8.5 million people in the U.S. It is seen worldwide in about 125 million people. Interestingly, African Americans have about half the rate of psoriasis as Caucasians.

Question 3question 3 Of : Are There Supplements I Can Take To Help Treat My Psoriasis

  • Dr. Mohiba Tareen: Yes, taking a daily fish oil supplement can really help. Fish oil supplements that are high in omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to hydrate your skin from the inside. This can really help with the plaque buildup from the psoriasis.
  • A low dose of vitamin D can also help treat your psoriasis. Take anywhere from 400-2000 IU of vitamin D a day depending on how much sun you naturally get where you live. Vitamin D acts like a stabilizer for your immune system, so you wont develop more patches of psoriasis.

How To Heal Psoriasis From The Inside Out

I see so many posts where Psoriasis peeps get some relief with medications and creams only to have their Psoriasis come back if they try stopping their medications. And I know peeps are spending so much money on OTC creams and such in desperation to get some relief. I have been spending the bucks myself! But I think in our search for relief, we are all treating the symptoms and not the root causes of our Psoriasis. I know everything says there is no cure for Psoriasis and other autoimmune diseases, but I feel that there are two things we can do to Address the Cause and Heal Psoriasis From the Inside Out :

    Strategies To Eliminate Psoriasis

I have a terrible case of psoriasis, writes this weeks House Call. My doctor is recommending these horrible immune-suppressing drugs and steroids that cause cancer and other problems. What can I do other than to take these drugs?

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease of the skin that affects over three percent of the U.S. population , and typically involves scaling and inflammation.

Most often, psoriasis results in patches of thick, red skin covered with silvery scales. These patches, sometimes called plaques, usually itch or feel sore. They most often occur on the elbows, legs, scalp, lower back, face, palms and soles of the feet, but they can occur anywhere on the body.

The disease may also affect the fingernails, toenails, soft tissues of the genitals and inside the mouth. Often the skin around affected joints starts to crack. Some people with psoriasis experience joint inflammation that produces symptoms of arthritis, called psoriatic arthritis.

Altogether, it makes for an absolutely miserable experience.

Ive been a doctor for 30 years and have practiced Functional Medicine for 20 of those years. Ive witnessed the heartbreak of psoriasis with its scaly, itchy, inflamed, peeling skin that leads to arthritis and joint pain for some people.

The problem with current medical thinking is that it treats diseases individually, requiring specific diagnoses and labels like you have psoriasis. And then you get the cream, the steroids and other short-term solutions.

What Is Psoriasis And What Causes It

    • Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease, characterized by the proliferation of the skin’s outer layer of cells, which fail to mature and fall off, and then results in reddish patches often covered with silvery scales, especially on the knees, elbows, scalp and trunk.
    • There is no cure as yet, for this non-contagious inflammatory disorder, which has a genetic factor, has no gender preference, and is almost unknown in the black community.
    • Treatment is aimed at reducing the symptoms.
    • Attacks are thought to be caused by stress and general debility often following a viral or bacterial infection.

Best Tips On How To Cure Psoriasis From The Inside

ByTerry Robbins | Submitted On August 02, 2014

Psoriasis is a disease that is difficult to treat because it is still not very well understood. Despite this, there are many treatment therapies that have been developed despite there currently being no “cure” yet. There are also various natural psoriasis treatments that have proven to be very effective for many psoriasis sufferers to keep flare-ups at bay. One of those is to use diet which many believe is one of the best ways on how to cure psoriasis from the inside out.

How to Cure Psoriasis from the Inside

Using food is an essential part of not only promoting general health and wellbeing but is also important to prevent various diseases and conditions. This is because various foods contain essential vitamins and minerals that boost the immune system and in addition for psoriasis, have various skin healing properties.

Using the right foods is important. Especially those that are organic and free of chemicals and antibiotics as well as saturated and trans fats.

Though many doctors may not believe that a healthy diet alone will cure psoriasis, they do believe that if making certain dietary changes provides some benefits, there is no harm is following a diet for psoriasis. Especially in the current absence of a psoriasis cure which makes it crucial to try various remedies to see whether they will work for you that are both conventional and unconventional.

    1. Turmeric

    2. Cold-water fish

    3. Beta carotene

    4. Low-calorie diets

Is Psoriasis The Same As Eczema

Psoriasis and eczema are two different skin conditions. They differ in where the disease appears on the body, how much it itches and how it looks. Eczema tends to appear more often behind the knees and inside the elbows. Eczema also causes more intense itching than psoriasis. Many people, especially children, can get both eczema and psoriasis.

Psoriasis Can Affect Internal Organs As Well As The Skin

Not only can psoriasis affect the skin, but it can have devastating effects that can affect your internal organs.

The systemic inflammation inside the body that accompanies the disease is often overlooked.

Patients may think that they are having success with their treatments if they cannot see the thick psoriasis plaques on their skin.

However, patients can have serious consequences on their joints, arteries and other organs if not properly treated early to decrease the inflammation.

It is important to know that psoriasis is an autoimmune disease. It is not contagious and is caused when the immune system attacks the skin.

As a result, scaly red patches or plaques occur on the skin.

In addition to skin problems, some patients can develop psoriatic arthritis. Signs and symptoms of this are painful, stiff and swollen joints that can come and go.

Psoriatic arthritis can affect any joint in the body, including the back or neck.

An early and accurate diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis is essential because persistent inflammation can cause damage to the joints.

Nobody knows exactly what causes psoriatic arthritis, but it can affect anyone.

Psoriatic arthritis typically occurs in people with skin psoriasis, but it can occur in people without skin psoriasis, particularly in those who have relatives with psoriasis.

Sometimes certain heart medications like B-blockers can cause a psoriasis flare on the skin or it may be triggered by a streptococcal throat infection.

    Scalp Psoriasis Vs Seborrheic Dermatitis

Best Tips On How To Cure Psoriasis From The Inside

Certain skin diseases look like psoriasis but actually fit another diagnosis. One example of this is seborrheic dermatitis, a red, itchy rash that appears most often on the scalp.

Seborrheic dermatitis seems to have roots in stress, genetic factors, a particular yeast that lives on skin, certain diagnoses or medications and cold, dry weather. Newborns, men and people with oily skin are at the highest risk of this particular form of dermatitis.

Dandruff is caused by seborrhea. Infants with the condition are often referred to as having cradle cap, as well as given an improper diagnosis of diaper rash when the redness occurs around the groin.

Like psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis most often clears and flares throughout the lifetime. If you have symptoms of these disorders, see a dermatologist for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment options. Since seborrhea is not an autoimmune disease, treatment looks different although many of the same items and supplements on my psoriasis diet are similar for those with seborrhea.

How Do I Know If I Have It

This can be tricky because oral psoriasis is controversial. Some experts don’t believe it’s really a type of psoriasis. They think the symptoms are caused by another condition.

To figure out what’s causing your symptoms, your doctor may:

    • Ask you questions about your medical history
    • Take a small sample of skin from inside your mouth to check under a microscope
    • Do genetic tests

Can Psoriasis Affect Only My Nails

In some cases, psoriasis may involve only the fingernails and toenails, although more commonly, nail symptoms will accompany psoriasis and arthritis symptoms. The appearance of the nails may be altered, and affected nails may have small pinpoint pits or large yellow-colored separations on the nail plate called “oil spots.” Nail psoriasis can be hard to treat but may respond to medications taken for psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. Treatments include topical steroids applied to the cuticle, steroid injections at the cuticle, or oral medications.

Leaky Gut Gut Infections And Candida

Natural psoriasis treatment relies on a healthy immune system. And the bottom line is that you cant have a healthy immune system without a healthy gut. Thats because your gut is home to nearly 80% of your immune system. So an unhealthy diet and environmental stress can compromise your immune system and your gut health. It can also provide the perfect ground for infections and Candida overgrowth.

When Candida gets out of hand and your gut flora is out of balance, the tight junctions in your gut lining become leaky. This means they open up. Then, undigested food particles, toxins, and microbes slip through into your bloodstream. Your immune system cant recognize these invaders and attacks them.

Furthermore, an overworked immune system and increased inflammation lead to autoimmune conditions. Depending on what part of your body your immune system is targeting, autoimmunity can manifest in many forms including psoriasis.

    Where Does Psoriasis Appear

Cure Psoriasis Naturally from the Inside Out – Week 3 Diary

Psoriasis affects everyone a bit differently. The location of psoriasis on the body is typically determined by the type of psoriasis:

    • In plaque psoriasis, which is the most common type of psoriasis, skin lesions develop most commonly in places like the elbows, forearms, knees, or lower back. This type of psoriasis can also impact the scalp and the nails.
    • A certain form of psoriasis that is more common in children, known as guttate psoriasis, causes small pink dots that generally appear on the bodys trunk, and also on the arms and legs.
    • In cases of inverse psoriasis, skin plaques are smoother and flatter, occurring in places where the skin folds in on itself, like the armpits or genital area.
    • A rarer form of the condition, known as pustular psoriasis can cause pustules , that are most commonly located on the hands or feet.
    • The rarest form of psoriasis, known as erythrodermic psoriasis, causes extreme redness of the skin, generally in large patches of skin.

Ways To Treat Psoriasis At Home

Psoriasis is a recurring autoimmune disorder characterized by red, flaky patches on the skin.

Even though it affects your skin, psoriasis actually begins deep inside your body in your immune system.

It comes from your T cells, a type of white blood cell. T cells are designed to protect the body from infection and disease. When these cells mistakenly become active and set off other immune responses, it can lead to psoriasis symptoms.

Even though theres no cure, many treatments exist to ease the symptoms of psoriasis. Here are 12 ways to manage mild symptoms at home.

Biologics May Help Prevent Related Health Conditions

While psoriasis plaques affect the skin, we know that psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory condition, says Dr. Zeichner. Its associated with arthritis a condition called psoriatic arthritis so if you have joint aches, it is important to treat them early. Left untreated, joint damage from psoriatic arthritis is permanent and progressive.

People who have psoriasis are also at higher risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and Crohns disease.

According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, reducing inflammation in the skin also reduces inflammation in the rest of the body, which in turn can help reduce the likelihood of developing these related health risks.

If you have a serious case of psoriasis, I want to introduce you to a friend who experienced sudden and unexplainable psoriasis, was told to “just live with it”, but was eventually able to conquer it naturally.

Laurie Neverman goes deep to figure out her psoriasis issue, not just her own, but her mother’s issues with skin. It was horrible. .

    Her psoriasis hit very suddenly:

“When my skin erupted in 2015, I thought I was dealing with the ‘family curse’ of inflamed skin that my mother had worn until she passed away in 2010. I went to a dermatologist she said it was plaque psoriasis, and that I should learn to live with it.”

People would stare at her oozing, peeling skin. To read Laurie’s skin journey would make anyone grateful to only have the occasional acne breakout or fine lines and wrinkles. She explained that she suddenly looked like a burn victim … her skin felt like it was on fire.

Her mom experienced something similar a few years before, leading up to her death in 2010. It all went unexplained. It was disconcerting, but she had to find a treatment.

Laurie was able to look past the bad advice from some of the dermatologists and find an answer.

“If you have visible symptoms like skin conditions , swelling, bloating, dark circles under the eyes, funky body odor, flaky scalp, constipation, etc then something is also not working where you cant see it.” Laurie writes.

Here’s what she found when she was in the throes of research:
