Is Aloe Good For Psoriasis

I Use Vaseline For Psoriasis Wherever I Go

D.I.Y. Aloe Vera Hair Mask for Scalp Psoriasis

If you have psoriasis, youve probably gone through thousands of moisturisers, tubs of white goo and other sticky substances, trying to find the one product that will keep your psoriasis flakes happy. Well, call off the search, because that product is none other than Vaseline the simple, cheap, slippery gunk that everyone always walks past because its just too plain-looking.

Ive been using it almost exclusively for nearly 2 years now, and I dont plan to stop any time soon. Not only is it as cheap as chips, costing around $2 for a 200ml tub where Im from, but its one of the simplest skin products you can use on your psoriasis. It doesnt contain any harsh chemicals, perfumes or parabens which make psoriasis act up all it has is good old petroleum jelly. I even have a small 50ml tub of Vaseline mixed with cocoa butter that I keep at work!

This bad boy stays with me wherever I go

The only problem, and the reason why it has a bad rap, is that nobody uses it correctly. Vaseline is good at locking in moisture it doesnt magically moisturise your skin if theres nothing already there. Consider it a sealant, like an anti-wetsuit that keeps moisture in instead of out. What it really needs to function well is water.

Where Can Aloe Vera Be Found

Aloe vera can commonly be found throughout India.

The best way to get aloe vera is to plant a few in your balcony or kitchen garden.

If not, you can always source some from the nearest farmers market.

Aloe vera gel can be bought from any natural grocery store near you.

If you already grow aloe vera then the best way to extract the gel is by cutting the leaf to split it open and scooping the gel filet.

Be sure to avoid the yellow latex part when scoping out the gel.

If you want to avoid all the hassle you can directly head to the nearest health food store and purchase aloe vera gel.

Ensure that its organic and natural.

Is Aloe Vera Good For Psoriasis?

Holistic skin care specialists and home remedies often recommend using aloe vera to treat psoriasis. Aloe vera is usually effective for the treatment of psoriasis and can be used topically to heal and improve the skin condition. Although the plant can be ingested, the most effective way to use aloe vera for psoriasis is to break open the plant and rub the gel-like substance on the affected area. The gel can help heal the condition and provide a protective coating over the skin. If the plant is not available, aloe vera cream can be used in its place.

Using aloe vera for psoriasis can also be a cost effective way to deal with the condition. Aloe vera plants are relatively inexpensive and are commonly used for a variety of skin conditions. The gel from an aloe vera plant can also be used to treat burns, skin infections, and other dermatological conditions. The plant is also commonly used as an oral laxative.

Corticosteroid creams can be used to treat psoriasis but often have unwanted side effects, including lightning of the skin and patchy dry spots. Aloe vera is a natural treatment and side effects are very rare when the plant is used topically. Many experts say that aloe vera is one of the safest treatments used for the skin problem.

Health Benefits Of Aloe Vera Juice

First, it’s worth knowing that two different substances can be taken from the aloe vera plant: One is a gel-like substance found inside the leaves, while the other is yellowish substance found directly beneath the plants skin called latex. Both are used for medicinal purposes, with the latex typically used as the type for oral consumption. Many people claim that aloe vera juice can promote weight loss, improve digestion, boost immunity, reduce inflammation, and even provide a general soothing sensation overall. Unfortunately, there just isnt enough scientific evidence out there to back all those claims.

    1. Laxative: Despite the significant lack of evidence for some of the claims about its health benefits, aloe vera has long been used as a natural laxative throughout history for its ability to get the bowels moving and encourage elimination within several hours of consumption. According to the Natural Standard Research Collaboration, short-term use of aloe’s latex substance is generally safe, but prolonged use may cause dehydration and an imbalance in electrolytes. There also may be a risk of diarrhea or vomiting, which is typically associated with anthraquinone contaminants of the aloe gel substance.

Preliminary evidence also suggests that people who suffer from mild to moderate ulcerative colitis can significantly reduce their symptoms by consuming aloe gel.

Potential Probs When Using Aloe Vera For Psoriasis

In general, aloe vera is considered safe when its used as a topical skin treatment. But its not the right option for everyone and there are some important things to keep in mind when deciding if its best for you.

First, make sure youre using a reputable product. Not all aloe vera products are created equally. Some are loaded with ingredients that can damage or irritate sensitive skin. So, try to stick to pure aloe vera unless your doc says otherwise.

Its also important not to use aloe vera if youre allergic to it. Stop use ASAP if you notice:
